The Flute Players, Europe, ca. 1740-1750
Folded fan, mounted in the English style, the skin sheet painted with gouache of three cartels. In the center, a couple of shepherds play the flute in the shelter of a grove. On the sides, young girls are picking flowers or having fun.
Dumb reverse.
Mounted in cut, engraved, burgled and gilded ivory*.
