Album in folio, old pink percaline titled on the first board: Deli, Langkat & Serdang, Sumatra, door G. R Lambert & Co ". 76 large albumen prints, 38x28 cm or 32x24 cm, well preserved contrasts, captions in Dutch, handwritten (e.g. for the views of Singapore) or mimeographed.
A comparable album is in the collections, Nationaal Archief, Den Haag. The National Gallery of Australia gives dates for Gustave Lambert's residence in Singapore in 1867-70, 1877-80, 1882-86 and a final return to Germany at the end of 1886, handing over the running of the studio to his partner Alexander Koch.
