Felix Bonfils and unidentified photographers
NEAR EAST, BAALBECK, JAFFA, JERUSALEM, 1873
Album in-4, plum morocco, first cover titled Aus dem Orient, 1873, 26 albumen prints, 20x27 cm or 18x25, five of which are captioned, pleasant tones.
The German-speaking traveler (archaeologist?) favored severe compositions of monuments, without human presence, but he carefully chose contrasting prints with sometimes black margins, which only artists keep.
