Oblong infolio album (319 x 552 mm) with a false title with the initials CDL, a title calligraphed in blue ink, pencil, and gold within gilt and blue ink fillets and signed lower right 'Girard fécit 1837', 81 leaves each comprising between 1 and 3 engravings. Aubergine morocco, boards decorated with a rich romantic cathedral decoration, spine ribbed and gilt edges, green silk endpapers and lining (period binding).
A very beautiful romantic album of imposing format, gathering numerous views of English, Spanish (notably
Granada), German cities, etc. There are also engravings from Grindlay and Elliot's works on India, 2 engravings after
Reynolds, etc.
