Large and strong in-8, (4)-xii-(2)-1214 pp. in red chagrin, spine ribbed, cloisonné and decorated with gilt imperial eagle in the centre of the caissons, large plate decorated with gilt flowers at the corners of the boards with initials "V. D." gilt in the centre of the upper board, gilt dotted fillet on the edges, gilt inner lace, moiré embossed white paper lining and endpapers, gilt edges, binding slightly worn, scattered foxing (period binding).
