CAROLINE SCOTT leaving today the service of the C[omt]esse de Montholon, the c[omt]te de Montholon begs His Excellency Sir Hudson Lowe to authorize MRS MARGRAW [sic for MacGraw, probably] to replace her. He also begs him to authorize MRS BENET [sic for Bennet] of the 53rd regiment, to come to Longwood to take care of his daughter's nurse's child until he can obtain a little girl who is better suited to this service and who is promised to him for the first days of next month. He will be very grateful to her and reiterates the expression of his distinguished consideration... P.S. The little girl who is to be engaged for the next month is CAROLINE EALEY, of the city. She is staying with Mrs. Daun [sic for Dawn, probably]."
