Copy of the first edition, n°8 of 25 on hollande (first paper), enriched with a very beautiful AUTOGRAPHIC NOTE SIGNED by Victor Hugo, dated March 29, 1874, in which he asks the publisher Michel Lévy to give a copy of Quatre-vingt-treize to Mr. Gustave FLAUBERT.

In-8 red morocco, spine ribbed and decorated, triple gilt fillet framing the boards, lining in havana morocco with beautiful fillet and gilt fleurons, gilt head, cover preserved. Some minor wear to the spines otherwise a very good copy in a beautiful unsigned binding. Ex-libris A.D. Randolphe handwritten on the cover.
