A gilt bronze CLOCK representing a man draped in the antique style, possibly symbolizing a scribe, leaning against a table decorated with lion's paws and on which are placed documents and an oil lamp. The lower part, in which the enamelled dial with Roman numerals for the hours and Arabic numerals for the minutes is inscribed, is decorated on both sides with a man's bust and a woman's bust in a niche on entablatures with chiselled palmettes ending with small runners.
