GUSTAVE LASELLAZ (1848-1910), THE EMPEROR'S SACRED, c. 1890-1900 Folded fan, the cream skin sheet painted after Jacques-Louis David's "The Coronation of Napoleon", celebrating the coronation of Emperor Napoleon and Empress Josephine in the cathedral of Notre-Dame in Paris on December 2, 1804. Semis of bees on the sides, and in the border, a bee in a medallion flanked by flags with eagle-like staffs. Signed on the left "G. Lasellaz" for Gustave Lasellaz (1848-1910). The reverse side is mute. Brown tortoiseshell frame**. The throat carved, engraved and gilded with an imperial eagle spreading its wings and holding a thunderbolt in its claws. The plumes carved with golden bees. Gilded metal clasp. H.t. 32,5 cm-H.f. 20,2 cm (small cuts) In a gilded wooden frame, decorated with two bees at the corners, the number "N" at the bottom, and a crown at the top (missing). W. 73 cm x H. 42,5 cm
