Vase for heating jiuzun wine
Vietnam, Hán-Việt period, 1st-3rd century,
Bronze, H. 20.7 cm - D. 23.3 cm
This jiunzun vase is a simplified version of the Chinese examples with an engraved fleuron motif on the lid, the presence of the three spikes (instead of the recumbent rams), taotie masks and bear-like feet. According to some scholars, the three spikes on the lid could serve as feet when the lid is turned over to form a tray.
