Funerary mask Rectangular in shape, the human face is stylised. It is composed of three silver leaves held together by clasps. It is animated by large effilés eyes characteristic of Lambayeque art and made in repoussé. The rectangular mouth is open, evoking the vital souffle. The nose is in relief, embedded and held in place by d'agrafe. The central leaf forms a thinner band that protrudes and serves as a headdress. Silver leaves embossed and held by a system of staples. Nice patina of burial and rest of textile on the back. Good condition with burial patina. Some tears on the edges of the middle part and in the right corner. Lambayeque culture, Peru 1100 - 1500 AD H. 27 W 30 cm Provenance: Private collection, France
