42. DÉNOIX DES VERGNES (Fanny). Guerrières et sentimentales. Paris, Delloye (Beauvais, E. Tremblay), 1841. In-8, [1] f., 266 p., [1] f., red half-bas. with smooth spine decorated with rocaille. Uncommon collection of poems by Fanny Dénoix (1798-1879), "the muse of the Oise", some of them of a feminist character as the title suggests (Women, you were not forever condemned / To drag the burdens imposed on humans: / Stop murmuring against destinies; / The sceptre of genius sparkles in your hands!)
Provenance: a baron Reille attested by his armorial and engraved bookplate, glued to the back cover and his wet stamp on the title page.
Some foxing. Curiously two folded plates of scrolling fortifications have been bound at the end of this copy.
Attached : COLLET (Fanny). Violettes, poems. Paris, H. Souverain, 1843. In-8, 269 p., green half-chagrin with smooth spine decorated.
Same provenance as before.
