Georges Jouve (1910-1964) was a free, daring and original ceramist, who was surprisingly diverse in his creations, as shown by this exceptional bowl offered in the sale, designed in the 1950-55 period. Jouve carried out research on form and material, and the chalice bowl, born of this research, invites us to contemplate a refined form, from which emerges a great strength as well as a great sobriety.
