The last medal of the Games was to be played out between France and Germany in the Olympic Park in Montreal. The French (Hubert Parot on Rivage, Marc Roguet on Belle de Mars and Michel Roche on Un Espoir) secured a bronze medal when Marcel Rozier and Bayard de Maupas turned it into silver after a course where the rider's technique and the horse's willpower worked wonders. The German rider Alwin Schockemöhle, who collapsed on the oxer, was left to watch. The French cavalry arrived in time. Single later print. Edition 1/1.
