Exceptional and very important silk Ghoum (Iran) circa 1965, Shah's era.
Ivory field with scrolls and sprays of finely drawn flowering palmettes, ruby, old rose, and old gold, framing a large central medallion in the form of an elongated diamond in midnight blue, bronze green and salmon pink.
Four spandrels with cartouches of birds and bouquets of flowers.
Wide main border reminiscent of the four spandrels.
Density of approximately 10,000 to 11,000 knots per dm2.
Silk velvet on silk foundation.
Good condition.
