CIRCA 1998.
Ref : 25860.
The history of the name Royal Oak begins in the 17th century when Charles II took refuge in a tree, a "Royal Oak", after his defeat against Cromwell. The name Royal Oak was used as a good luck charm for Royal Navy ships in the early 20th century, such as HMS Royal Oak. It was from the hull of the battleship that Gérald Genta, a true precursor of modern watchmaking design, drew his inspiration to create the bracelet so characteristic of this watch.
It is a Royal Oak Kasparov Chronograph, Tropical dial. Dial called "petite-tapisserie", three chronos, the one at 3 o'clock indicates the chronograph minutes, at 6 o'clock the permanent seconds, at 9 o'clock the chronograph hours. Date window at 4:30. Extremely rare tropical patina. Steel tonneau case, octagonal bezel secured by 8 gold hexagonal screws. Push buttons and screwed back. Mechanical self-winding movement, calibre 2385. Signed steel bracelet, folding clasp. Sold with case, surboîte and certificate of authenticity.
