NASA. It is November 28, 1964. The space probe LUNAR ORBITER 2 sends back to Earth its most captivating photograph: a view of the lunar surface taken at an angle which upsets all the "flat" views obtained until then by Man with his telescope from Earth. For the first time, the Moon appears in a 3-dimensional reality. This photograph became the photograph of the year and was immediately shown around the world. What you can see is the interior of the Copernicus crater, which is about 60 miles across and 2 miles deep. Inside the crater, mountains of more than a mile high rise up. Vintage silver print. Press stamps on the back. 25,4 x 20,5 CM with margins.
