JAPAN, 19TH CENTURY A light brown lacquered wooden box with a curved lid, decorated with gold and polychrome lacquer, chrysanthemums, birds, butterflies and dragonflies on the lid, the sides decorated with peonies, camellias, bamboos, among which birds and butterflies fly.
