TÔN-THÂT Tiêt (born 1933). Autograph musical manuscript, Les Sourires de Bouddha (Nhung nu cuoi tu bi), 2001; 26 pages, 35 x 27 cm. Work for chamber choir, premiered on November 23, 2001 in Tarbes by the choir Les Éléments, under the direction of Joël Suhubiette, who recorded it (Hortus 2002) Four parts: I [The Elements, Anonymous] "The evening wind brushes the plum tree branches"...; II [Deer Closet, Wang Wei] "No one in sight in the deserted mountain"...; III [Spring Wind Song, Qi Ji] "What is the spring wind thinking? "...; IV [Magnolia Talus, Wang Wei] "Flowers at the end of magnolia branches"... Duration 17 minutes. The manuscript is carefully written in Indian ink on single sheets with 18 staves, with corrections by tipex; it is initialed at the end with this note and the date: "Clarity, the moon awakens the sleeping soul. St. Maur I-II/2001". Page 6 has been crossed out on the back of page 5, and redone on an additional sheet. The reciter's interventions are printed on collards.
