TÔN-THÂT Tiêt (born 1933). Autograph musical manuscript, Prajña Paramita, 1988; 63 sheets 37 x 27 cm.
Orchestral score of this work for 6 solo voices and instrumental ensemble, commissioned by the Festival d'Art Sacré de Paris, premiered on October 17, 1988, by the Ensemble A Sei Voci and the Ensemble Alternance, under the direction of Sandro Gorli
The work is based on the basic Buddhist Sutra: "Omnamo bhagavat yaï"... It lasts 27 minutes and is dedicated to Agnès and Jean-Marc Tapié de Céleyran.
The orchestra includes flute, oboe (and English horn), clarinet (and bass clarinet), horn, trombone, violin, cello, and 2 percussionists.
The manuscript is carefully written in Indian ink on 18-line Boissie tracing paper; it is dated at the end "St Maur III 1988".
The autograph material of the 8 parts on tracing paper is attached: Percussion I,II (12 p.), Flute (4 p.), Trombone (5 p.), Horn (6 p.), Oboe (English horn) (5 p.), Clarinet (6 p.), Cello (5 p.), Violin (5 p.).
