Manuel ROSENTHAL (1904-2003). Autograph musical manuscript signed, Aeolus, 1970; 38 leaves 35.5 x 27 cm (marginal cuts in the plate).
Suite for wind quintet and string orchestra, commissioned by Arts et Lettres, and premiered at the Maison de la Radio on December 18, 1970, by the Quintette à Vent de Paris (to whom the work is dedicated) and the Orchestre de chambre de l'O.R.T.F. under the direction of Witold Dobrzynski.
Lasting 18 minutes, it is written for flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon and horn, and a string quintet (chamber orchestra). It is in three movements: I Choral varié (p. 1-14), Grave; II Dithyrambe (p. 15-21), Largamente; III Paganiniana (p. 22-38), Allegro diabolicus.
