These copies are the only ones with an original unsigned etching by Enrique Zañartu on the frontispiece. "A classic of the avant-garde, this novel written in the second person plural associates the reader with the hero's gestures and conscience down to the smallest detail. Crowned with the Prix Renaudot, it was the first great public success for a 'new novelist' from Éditions de Minuit, with several immediate reprints, bringing the number of copies sold in the first year to 90,000" (Henri Vignes).
