A gilt bronze and chiselled GUERIDON, resting on three uprights with caryatid busts bearing flowery baskets on their heads, and ending with twisted feet on casters, the openwork spacer in the shape of a flower. It has a circular top in cherry red marble with a moulded edge. After the model of Adam WEISWEILER (1744-1820) received master in 1778 H : 69 D : 50 cm Note : Master cabinetmaker in Paris in 1778, and established in the Faubourg Saint-Antoine, Adam Weisweiler (Rhineland, 1744-1820) had made a specialty of small refined furniture, with fine and nervous lines, often decorated with lacquers and porcelains : pedestal tables, work tables, daybeds, consoles. He became the supplier of the French Court, of Marie-Caroline of Austria, Queen Consort of Naples, of Maria Feodorovna, daughter-in-law of Catherine II, as well as of the French and English high aristocracy. He also worked under the Empire.
