PAIR OF CANDELABRA "WITH HUNTING HORNS
Circa 1780
Gilt bronze
H. 81 cm, W. 41 cm, D. 41 cm
This large pair of candelabras is elegantly supported by three flexed fluted jambs, topped by scrolls and rings. The claw feet stand on a triangular base with concave sides arranged with scrapers. The majestic light fixture with six hunting horn arms is topped with fire pots. Godrons, pine cone sconces and oak leaves complete the neoclassical ornamentation resolutely turned towards the repertoire of ancient Rome.
