PAIR OF TRANSFORMATION CANDLES France, Louis XVI period Gilt bronze H. 39 cm, D. 20 cm Our elegant candlesticks with transformations are in the form of columns with fluted shafts decorated with gathered curtains and encircled by a laurel spiral set on terraces with steps decorated with a frieze of posts. They are topped by covered fire pots with handles decorated with frieze interlacing, oak leaves, laurels, gadroons and "seed" handles. The lids are mobile, leaving room for candle holders.
