SMALL FINE TABLE France, Louis XV period, circa 1760 Walnut frame ; rosewood ; amaranth ; violet ; stained wood and yellow wood ; Galifet (Alpes-Maritimes) marble ; bronze and brass Original iron lock Restorations H. 39 cm, D. 20 cm Our elegant little table is fitted with a sliding writing table in front, two retractable side tables and a drawer containing the necessary. It is supported by four curved legs joined by a crotch table. The whole is inlaid with branches of various woods on a rosewood background in amaranth frames. A sober ornamentation of bronzes with falls and hooves underlines the whole. Note the very nice tray in Galifet breche marble surrounded by a gilded brass moulding.
