PROVENANCE Presumed collection of Marie-Joseph de Saxe, according to the mention on an old label: "This chest belonged to Marie-Josèphe who married in 1750 the Dauphin son of Louis XV and was the mother of kings Louis XVI, Louis XVIII and Charles X".
This casket, stretched in calfskin, is richly decorated with gilding in iron with motifs of fleurons, friezes and arabesques. The lid, slightly curved, shows the trace of an old monogram. The interior is lined with blue moiré silk.
