Iconic model Beautiful and powerful 9 600 € of recent fees Competition car Sold without title Chassis n° SF01 The French Supertourism Championship was created in 1976 and has evolved over the seasons. In 2001, victim, as usual, of costs that had become insane, the FFSA launched the «Silhouette» series, which was supposed to limit budgets and relaunch the concept. This is how the 406 Silhouette coupe project was launched. The FFSA offered participants the possibility of creating cars with «free» curves: for the pretty Peugeot 406 coupé, it was an opportunity to show that it could also be effective on the track. The specifications are simple: tubular chassis, central mechanical layout, massive use of fiberglass and carbon, and preparation of the 3-liter V6 with 4 overhead camshafts and 4 valves per cylinder at 300 hp. Transmission is to the rear wheels via a six-speed Sadev sequential gearbox. The 406 Silhouette presented here is a car built by Solution F and it is the SF 1 chassis. Driven from the beginning by the great driver William David, it participated in the French championship from 2001 to 2004. William David finished 3rd in the championship in 2001 and 2002 with a victory in Pau in May, while his sister car was crowned French Champion by Jean-Philippe Peugeot. The car will know four owners after its official career, the last one buying it in 2019. Since then, he has carried out a major mechanical restoration. The engine and the gearbox have been rebuilt as well as repainted, respecting the livery of the time with the sponsor Elephant Bleu. This very rare 406 Silhouette is now ready to take the track in the hands of a gentleman and connoisseur driver.
