The Keyhole Ranch was a working cattle ranch when it was purchased by the Seghesio family in 1961. Located in the Russian River appellation, Keyhole Ranch's cool, marine-influenced climate is well suited to producing Pinot Noir: the vineyard's microclimate is tempered by cool coastal breezes and frequent foggy summer mornings. These climatic conditions provide an optimal growing environment for Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio and Arneis. The soils are composed of gravel (Los Robles) and clay.
