Villa Maria Estate is one of New Zealand's largest wine producers. Its vineyards are located throughout New Zealand, with winemaking bases in Gisborne, Hawke's Bay, Marlborough and Auckland.
Sir George Fistonich founded the company in 1961, after leasing a 5-hectare site on Kirkbride Road in Mangere, Auckland from his parents. The company moved to a wider estate on Montgomerie Road in the same neighbourhood, and has expanded since that moment, but remains a family-owned business.
