Large in-4, full jansenist midnight blue morocco, spine decorated with a mosaic column decoration, with 3 orange morocco nerves, author, title, illustrator and head gilt, first cover preserved, lined and edged slipcase. Slight discharge of the illustrations - 107 pp, [3 ff.] Illustrated with 38 compositions by F.L. Schmied, 17 of which out of text, engraved on wood by his son Theo. Edition at 150 numbered copies on Arches vellum (n° 114). This is the last book illustrated by F.L. Schmied who died on January 19, 1941. He will not have seen the realization, the volume having been printed in the spring of the same year.
