"There are only 7 thousand fr. of inscriptions on Lacarrière and as I keep in hand a part of the price I will pay the whole only as much as he will have written off. [...] Mr. Caphlat tells me that Mr. Annequin writes to him that he has three thousand three hundred and forty five livres at his disposal, and that he will have them received on my behalf. He has "renounced the trip to Paris, although my business imperiously requires my presence. The affair of the woods is not ending quickly and this negotiation seems to me to be faltering"...
