A RARE mahogany veneered SALON TABLE, one side of the mobile belt decorated with two Japanese lacquer plates. It rests on four ormolu columns with brass flutes, the legs in spinning tops joined by an openwork strut. It is stamped RIESENER. Louis XVI style, beginning of the 19th century Height: 75 cm - Width: 55 cm - Depth: 31 cm (gilt bronze element on the brace added) Our table is close to the knitting machine made for Queen Marie-Antoinette around 1781 for the birth of her eldest son. It is kept in the Louvre Museum and comes from the Camondo Collection. Its lightness is reminiscent of certain productions by Carlin and Weisweiler.
