BOISSEAU, J. Païs armorique, ou Description de la haute et basse Bretagne, 1642. Paris, 1642. Black and white. Paper slightly yellowed, small wormholes restored in the lower margins. 330 x 460 mm. Extremely rare map of Brittany by Boisseau, edition without text on the reverse. Boisseau takes over the map of Bouguereau, itself based on the map of Argentré (1591). In 1641 and 1647, in his "Théâtre géographique de France", he took up this map and added many modifications. The title of the map, modified, is inside the frame, recalling the first version known as "de Argentré". About a hundred place names have been added. Represents Quiberon as an island. - C.
