Large and fine silk Ghoum (Iran), Shah's era, circa 1965.
Silk velvet on silk foundation.
Ivory field decorated with sprigs of flowering palmettes surrounded by serrated foliage in twists, spikes and serpentines in emerald green and old gold framing a central pearl-grey and old gold cruciform floral medallion.
Seven borders, the main one ivory with interlacing fine crenellated and coiled branches.
Density of about 10 000 to 11 000 knots per dm2.
Good condition.
