With two tables, one of the speeches, & the other very complete of the principal subjects, maxims, rules, sentences, & political, military & moral instructions. Dedicated to the King. (engraved title-frontispiece, title, dedication, table of speeches, preface), 916 pp. and [62] ff. n. of table of contents and privilege, soft vellum (contemporary binding). Spine consolidated with soft green cardboard. Translation of the Discorsi del signor Scipione Ammirato sopra Cornelio Tacito, originally published in 1594 at the Florence address (attribution of Bozza, Scrittori politici Italiani dal 1550 al 1650, 1980). Ex. of Robert de Billy, with ex-libris vignette pasted on the first endpapers. The work later passed into the Italian collection of Daniel Appia.
