This painting would be the counterpart of Girardet's 1767 portrait of Paul-Victor Coster, of similar dimensions to ours, kept in the Dijon Museum of Fine Arts (donated by Albert Joliet between 1924 and 1928).
Inscription on the frame: Madame Coster / aged 31 / painted by Girardet in 1767.
