1907. Reign of H.M. Emperor Duy Tan (1907-1916),
Postcards on the Vietnamese Resistance in Tonkin (1905-1913)
An album of 62 postcards, mostly made up of images reflecting the insurrectionary context led by the nationalist leader, De-Tham (1858-1913), in Tonkin between 1905 and 1913. This rebellion was harshly repressed by the colonial army and was presented, at the time, as a "pirate revolt".
With maps of Emperor Duy-Than, views of Hanoi and Haïphong, Le Dé-Tham, partisan revolts, escorts, military manoeuvres, forts, feats of arms (1905, 1908 and 1909), interrogations, executions, beheadings, poisoners' conspiracy, exhibitions of corpses as well as some general views of Tonkin. The whole in very good condition.
