Senufo Gate (Ivory Coast).
The surface is engraved in bas-relief with three registers. The central motif evokes umbilical scarification. The upper and lower registers combine birds, snakes, turtles and fetters with symbolism associated with slavery. Old accidents, surface faded by time.
