Alphabet. 1970. Manuscript folio : half calf in the Bradel style, vellum boards painted by Jacques Spacagna, folder, case (Mercher). Remarkable Lettrist manuscript by Jacques Spacagna: 26 letters of the alphabet in black felt-tip pen on a coloured background and two large paintings on parchment for the boards of the binding. Each letter is drawn on a coloured background (120 x 125 mm) in the upper third of folio-sized sheets of paper, the whole bound by Mercher with, on the boards, two masterly Lettrist paintings by Spacagna, the first signed and dated 1969. In black and blue ink and glossy black and gold paint, they each reproduce, but with nuances, a large letter A. Unique book, in the style of those that Jacques Spacagna made for Jean Parizel at the same time. Provenance: Robert Altmann, patron and early Lettrist.
