SENDREY (Gérard). "Composition" (1995). Gouache and wash on paper, dated and signed on the lower right corner, mounted in a wooden frame. Dim. frame: 27 x 20,5 cm ; subject: 18,5 x 13,5 cm (scratched frame). Gérard Sendrey (°1928) devoted himself entirely to painting in 1967. He created the Musée de la création franche, with the help of Noël Mamère in 1996. His preferred medium remains paper. He works in a serial way by privileging the small and medium formats. He thus stages fantastic animals, characters, landscapes and a mythology of his own. His work is present in the following museums and public collections: La Neuve Invention in Lausanne, L'Aracine at Lam de Lille, La Fabuloserie in Dicy, the Folk Art Museum in New York, the Museum Im Lagerhaus in St-Gallen, the Musée d'Art Naïf A. Jakowsky in Nice, the Art Brut Center Gugging in Vienna, etc.
