GOUX (Claudine). "Characters". Gouache, ink and collage on 2 camembert boxes, signed on the back, mounted under a single wooden frame. Dim. frame : 20 x 35 cm ; subjects : (2 x) 11.5 cm in diameter. Claudine Goux (°1945) was a doctor of medicine before devoting herself to her family. She started painting in 1971. After being influenced by Gauguin, then by cubism, she develops her own pictorial world, composed of imaginary beings. Her work can be found in many collections: La Neuve Invention in Lausanne, L'Aracine at Lam de Lille, the Slovak National Gallery in Bratislava and the Cabinet d'Estampes in Reggio Emilia in Italy.
