Max SVABINSKY (1873-1962). Abundance, ca. 1925. Etching, covered surface 9.5 x 13.2 cm, the plate 20 x 25 cm. Painter, engraver, lithographer and illustrator, Svabinsky is one of the most important artists of the 20th century in Czechoslovakia, admired for his skill in drawing and the variety of graphic techniques he used. Together with Jan Preisler, Antonin Slavicek and Milos Jiranek, he belongs to the generation that laid the foundations of modern Czechoslovak art in the 20th century and participated in its diffusion in Europe. 200/300
