Of Irish origin, Edouard Molyneux started his career in the Lucile house. After the war, "Captain Molyneux" briefly returned to the Paris branch before creating his own company. The success was dazzling and the "Molyneux style", with its strict yet chic lines, undoubtedly influenced by its origins across the Channel, became established during the Roaring Twenties. It had a notable influence on the designers of the following generation, from Pierre Balmain to Christian Dior.
