Short evening dress in black silk Georgette crepe, long velvet fringes embroidered with black sequins. Large point neckline on the front and back revealing the bottom of the dress with heart-shaped neckline in black satin. Straight shape, skirt with two layers of fringes. Spring-summer 1926 Iconography : identical model, Archives de Paris, registered model Molyneux, deposit of August 13, 1926 An identical model kept at the FIT Museum, n° 74.25.1 Of Irish origin, Edouard Molyneux started his career in the Lucile house. After the war, "Captain Molyneux" briefly returned to the Paris branch before creating his own company. The success was dazzling and the "Molyneux style", with its strict yet chic lines, undoubtedly influenced by its origins across the Channel, became established during the Roaring Twenties. It had a notable influence on the designers of the following generation, from Pierre Balmain to Christian Dior.
