Portable sundial, folding, called "Augbourg". Square, tripod, gilded brass plate, engraved with rocaille and flower, centered with the compass, and mobile parts in patinated brass. The reverse side of the compass, silvered, showing a list of six European cities and their latitude, and the inscription "Elev. Pol" (elevations at the poles), and the signature by initials: L.T.M. About 1750-1760. H. (unfolded): 7,5 cm - Dim. plate: 7,1 x 7,5 cm. Some wear and small scratches. Ludovicus Theodatus MULLER active in Augsburg between 1710 and 1770. Attached: GERMANY, Augsburg, first half of the XIXth century. Johan SCHRETTEGGER Portable sundial. Octagonal gilt brass plate, engraved with rays, centered with the compass, and mobile parts in patinated brass. The reverse side of the compass, silvered, signed "Joh= Schrettegger in Augsburg". H. (unfolded) : 5.3 cm - Dim. plate : 5 x 5 cm. Some wear and stains, damaged glass. In a brown leather octagonal screen, probably brought back (used). With a printed sheet of the manufacturer's instructions, in German and French, on one side, and on the other side, the list of the latitudes of the European cities, in alphabetical order (worn, folds and holes). Johan Schrettegger (1797-1843), son-in-law of Andreas Vogler, was a compass and dial maker in Augsburg.
