Georges CLEMENCEAU. Dedicated portrait, in a gilded wood frame (43 x 47 cm).
Reproduction of the famous portrait of Clemenceau by Henri Evenepoel (1872-1899), with, on the mount, a beautiful A.S. from Clemenceau to Stephen Pichon: "to my friends Stephen Pichon and Madame Pichon. Very affectionately. G. Clemenceau".
Stephen Pichon (1857-1933) was a close friend of Clemenceau, with whom he founded the newspaper La Justice in 1880. He was also twice his Minister of Foreign Affairs (1906-1911 and 1917-1920).
