Chinese pagoda, China, 19th century Large fan, the double sheet painted with gouache. On the front, among symbols of happiness, three cartels are painted with characters in conversation on terraces. All wear silk garments in relief and heads made of ivory. On the reverse, a view of a pagoda and pavilions around a lake. On the sides, insects in large coloured cells among flowers. Black lacquered bamboo frame with gold decoration of a scholar and servants in a garden. Metal clasp. H.t. 36,2 cm-H.f. 20,3 cm (small cuts, wear and restorations of the leaf)
