Gustave HAMELIN (1809-1895), school of Honfleur. Summer, January 1822. Charcoal drawing signed, dated and titled. 29 x 29 cm. Eugène BOUDIN wrote to his old friend DUBOURG "You have laughed, it is very possible to form from now on a small museum of Honfleur painters. We should first of all look for some paintings by HAMELIN, which you do not seem to appreciate, nor to put in the range that he deserves. It is however the first of us all."
