YORUBA (Nigeria)
This rare calabash MASK worn in the Ekiti region of eastern Yoruba country is one of the most beautiful known of this style. Made of a calabash on which the facial features are overmodeled, the whole is covered with a traditional loincloth fabric. The three-crested hairstyle is embellished with buns of cloth containing magical substances. Red patina, cracked on the face.
