Skin fan sheet, put in a rectangle, and glued on a wooden panel. Peasants are depicted in a rural setting at nightfall. To celebrate Candlemas, some dance or play music, others bring food and bottles to make bombing. A woman pours milk into a large cauldron. And, on her doorstep, a couple is offered some kind of pancake or porridge.
The throat location and upper corners completed later.
